The Beta Group, a privately held company, was funded by The Boston Consulting Group in 1983. Beta co-founded Nitinol Devices and Components (NDC) in 1991. The company invented the products and processes for the use of nitinol in eyeglasses (Flexon, Marchon). Beta invented the first adjustable nitinol-based orthopedic knotless bone anchor, acquired by Tornier (Piton, Wright Medical).
